BAP (Best Aquaculture Practices) and GLOBALGAP (Global Good Aquaculture Practice) approved sashimi grade salmon. The fish are kept in pens out at sea in strong currents. This lowers the impact to the local ecosystem. It also means clean water and healthy salmon.No antibiotics, hormones or chemicals of any kind are used in the farming of this salmon. The pens also hold lumpfish which live in symbiosis with the salmon, removing sea lice and keeping them healthy. The also keep way fewer than the regulation number of fish per pen.
After capture the fish are shipped by sea (not flown) to market, saving on air miles. In fact the farm emits 8% less CO2 per fish than its industry competitors.
Any preconceptions of intensive salmon farming with horrendous living conditions and questionable practices do not apply here.
