Kreel caught langoustines are caught in a baited pot or basket. The fishermen haul in the pots and sort through the catch, throwing back unharmed any undersized langoustines or females carrying eggs. This way the future populations of langoustines are protected. They also throw back any bycatch unharmed meaning there is next to zero impact on the local ecosystem.
